Confident Investing Starts Here:

AI MODELS: Apple (AAPL) plans to let third-party developers write software using its AI models, and is working on a software development kit and related frameworks that will let outsiders build AI features based on the large language models that the company uses for Apple Intelligence, people familiar with the matter tell Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. Apple is expected to unveil its plan at WWDC on June 9, the people say.

BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS: Builder.ai, a U.K. technology start-up backed by Microsoft (MSFT), is entering bankruptcy proceedings after admitting “problems” under its past leadership and restating its revenues, The Financial Times’ Alexandra Heal and Robert Smith report. The company confirmed to the Financial Times that its main unit, Engineer.ai Corporation, “will be entering into insolvency proceedings and will appoint an administrator to manage the company’s affairs.” Builder.ai says it has been “unable to recover from historic challenges and past decisions that placed significant strain on its financial position.”

AI SEARCH: An internal Google (GOOGL) document reveals that the company considered giving publishers more control over how their content is used to train AI models, but ultimately chose not to, Bloomberg’s Davey Alba and Julia Love report. The U.S. DOJ is proposing remedies to curb Google’s market dominance, including giving publishers the ability to opt out of having their content used to train AI models, but Google has argued that this would be too complicated and costly.

AMAZON MUSIC: Amazon Music (AMZN) is debuting a new AI-powered search experience that enhances music discovery on the Amazon Music app, turning each search into a chance to delve deeper into the world of your favorite artists. Now, users will see AI-enhanced results with richer recommendations, including curated music collections to unlock deeper realms of discovery–plus they can use the search results as a launch pad to create AI-generated playlists that capture an artist’s magic. Powered by Amazon Bedrock, the feature launches in beta today to a subset of Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers in the U.S., available on iOS in the Amazon Music app. This experimental feature includes results for many of favorite artists today and will continue expanding to include more overtime.
